Today, we’re happy to announce that Rocket.net is now available in Toronto, CA! 

As promised, with our new hosting.com partnership, we continue investing in our platform and customer success. Toronto has been our most requested location to date, and it’s now available to all Rocket.net and hosting.com customers.

While Cloudflare Enterprise serves a cached version of WordPress websites in 300+ locations worldwide, customers can now deploy their WordPress install to our self-managed Toronto data center, which is directly peered with Cloudflare, ensuring the best performance possible.

Having our own data center in Toronto will improve dynamic request routing for customers in that region, making it faster than ever to manage your site.

This Toronto facility is the hosting.com facility based in Cologix, Canada’s best-connected data center, and home to the Toronto Internet Exchange, TorIX. Thanks to our partnership with hosting.com, this is the first new location we are able to roll out. Our servers match the same next-generation configuration we’ve been using with AMD EPYC chipsets and NVMe storage. Performance continues to be as good as Rocket.net customers have come to expect.

In addition, we solve many pain points that we’ve faced since Rocket.net’s inception regarding managing our footprint. Traditionally, we’ve been at the mercy of our vendors, with SLAs that just don’t align with the Rocket.net standard.

We recently had a hardware failure on a Phoenix host node (the second time in five years), and unfortunately, it took our vendor four hours to do a simple chassis swap to get us back online.

Now, with hosting.com’s help, we can set our own SLAs and do things I’ve only dreamed of. 

For example, if this scenario happened on the hosting.com platform, we would immediately have our own team working to mitigate and fix the hardware issue as a top priority. In October, we will roll out an industry-leading SLA to all new and existing Rocket.net customers.
